Scotland & Wales lose their status as Countries...

Walker Crisps latest advertising campaign has seen the countries of Scotland & Wales relegated to the status of regions, regions of what is unsure, but looking at their advertising campaigns on their website, YouTube, Twitter & Facebook it would appear that they think these two countries are regions of England, this could be substantiated by the fact that England does not have its own packet and that the four other packets are well known regions of England.

Or maybe the advertising staff at Walkers Crisps think that Scotland and Wales are regions of the United Kingdom and just forgot about England.

So lets assume that they have made a genuine mistake and really do believe that the United Kingdom is a country, which could be supported by the fact that their online webform has the country tab showing "United Kingdom" and "Republic of Ireland" as countries, however, as far as I am aware, the United Kingdom is made up of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with Great Britain consisting of 3 Countries, England, Scotland and Wales. So one can only assume that this is either the worlds worst educated company or a blatant attempt to undermine the status of Scotland and Wales as individual countries within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, by depicting them as regions.

So whether Walkers Crisps believe Scotland & Wales to be regions of the United Kingdom or regions of England, they are wrong, because Scotland has always been a Country and Wales was recognised as a country in the 1960's (when the term “England and Wales” was officially used for the first time).

I would also like to point out that both Scotland and Wales are recognised as individual Countries by the "ISO"

This advertising campaign is wrong in so many ways and whatever the reason or excuse for this demeaning campaign, one thing is pretty clear, Walkers Crisps have got it wrong and need to sort this out fast as many have already taken to complaining via twitter using the Hashtag #BanWalkersCrisps

Despite several attempts at communication including email, facebook and twitter, Walker Crisps who are based in Leicester, have failed to reply to me.

Walker Crisps need to address this and hopefully sometime soon, meanwhile I would urge the people of Scotland and Wales to make a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.

Complaints can also be made to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter as this campaign may also be in violation of their terms of service.

In this advertising campaign Walker Crisps are depicting Scotland & Wales as regions instead of countries. they are clearly depicting these two countries as regions of England or the UK when in fact they are both Countries. Scotland has always been a Country and Wales was recognised as a country in the 1960's (when the term “England and Wales” was officially used for the first time). I would also like to point out that both Scotland and Wales are recognised as individual Countries by the "ISO"
