Last nights terror attack on concert goers in Manchester has left 22 dead and 59 people injured, many of them children who were there enjoying a show by American artist Ariana Grande. Witnesses reported hearing a “huge bomb-like bang” at around 10.30pm on Monday, as fans were leaving the arena shortly after the show finished. People with information relating to the attack can call the anti-terror hotline on 0800 789 321.
This attack is the deadliest in the UK since four radicals killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London’s transport system in July 2005. As well as the usual sympathetic posts the internet has today been flooded with Tweets, Blogs and Posts showing Outrage and Defiance.
What some people often fail to understand is that these terrorists don't care if you are Black or White, Young or Old, Male or Female, Catholic, Protestant, Jew or Muslim all they care about is attacking the defenceless, hurting the innocent and disrupting our way of life...
Theresa May has done very little to help curb home grown terrorism, cuts to Police spending and Security Services has left doors open and allowed these radicals to continue unchecked. She done nothing to stop this when she was home secretary preferring to let extremists return to the UK after fighting abroad, and she has done nothing as Prime Minister except make more cuts and spout "Brexit is Brexit" and "Stronger Together". I agree that we need as she puts it "Strong Leadership" but wholeheartedly disagree with political correctness and cuts to spending that stops our Police and Security Services from doing their jobs. If this concert had been an event attended by leading politicians or royalty then the police would have had sniffer dogs patrolling the area like they did with the recent Conservative Party Conference, but unfortunately our underfunded Police force simply do not have the resources or manpower to carry out these protocols for public attended events.
It is time for change, we need a leader who is prepared to stand up against radical extremists, we need a leader who will implement extra security protocols for large public attended events, we need a leader who is prepared to spend real money improving the Police and Security Services instead of spending billions of the taxpayers money on outdated nuclear missiles.
I for one, hope that our next government will put political correctness behind them and make some drastic changes to the way we approach extremism and public safety here in the UK...
